Sleep may prevent a cold

Blog Entry

More and more studies are showing how important getting enough sleep is to staying healthy. Now a new study in Archives of Internal Medicine showed people who get less than seven hours of sleep a night are more likely to get a cold. People who have a hard time falling asleep or who wake up at night are over five times more likely to get a cold. The reason: sleep boosts the immune system and that helps protect you for cold germs. So when it’s time for bed, don’t fight it. Sleep is good for your health.
