Single Mom Has 8 Babies

February 06, 2009
Recently a single mom with 6 kids at home went to doctors to help her have more kids. She ended up with 8 more - all at once. The babies were born months early and are still in the hospital. It's great to have kids and great for kids to have brothers and sisters. But when there are too many kids born at the same time, it usually causes problems.
Children born many months before they are due can have problems breathing, problems with their attention and problems controlling their muscles. It also makes it hard for a parent to take care of them - feeding, changing their diapers, holding them, getting them all to school or doctors appointments, and lots more. Imagine trying to eat dinner with 8 brothers and sisters and 6 more older siblings at the table.
So when you see this on the news, and talk about it at school, think about all these things.
