Reduced pollution makes people live longer

January 27, 2009
The air in America is getting cleaner. And it's making a real difference.
A new study in today's New England Journal of Medicine showed that less pollution in the air since the 1970's is increasing people's lives. People are living 3 years longer and 5.5 months of that 3 years is due to cleaner air. Imagine living 5.5 months longer just because the air we breathe is cleaner! This study shows how important it is to reduce pollution.
