Texting, Sexting and the Law

February 24, 2009
There have been several articles lately about a new use of cell phones called sexting. It happens when a person takes a photo of a private part and sends it to another person, kind of like texting. One thing some teens are finding out - it's illegal.
It started happening a lot around Valentines Day when a number of teen boys and girls were sending these types of photos to their girl and boyfriends. Some were as young as age 13. When the law enforcement people found out about it, both the boy and the girl got in trouble for child pornography.
Private parts aren't for taking pictures of and sending them to others to look at. It's not only a bad idea, it's one that will end up causing you a problem by giving you a criminal record. Especially if you're a teen.
